When lack of sleep is an impossible situation?

If you’ve ever been unfortunate enough to suffer from insomnia, you’ll know how annoying it can be.

Well known remedies such as warm milk, chamomile tea, warm bath or shower, not reading or watching a stimulating story before sleeping are considered possible methods to help you fall asleep,  however, they are unlikely to work for everyone.

If you’ve tried absolutely everything, why not give aromatherapy a chance?

Here’s what works for me.

Main Rule of thumb if you don’t like the aroma it not good for you.

Don’t put any essential oils directly on your skin, always blend in a carrier oil, such as almond, grape seed or coconut to name  a few also  check there’s is no contra indications e.g. if your in your first trimester of pregnancy. Always ask qualified Aroma therapist or pharmacist.

Prepare yourself for sleep an hour before bedtime with beautiful calming aroma’s relaxing music and a warm comfy room.

All you need is a few essential oils a vaporizer and the basic know how of how to blend and use oils safely.

When in bed try gentle breathing and counting breaths placing one hand on tummy and other on collar bone focus on your breath.

Add a couple of drops of essential oil (try the one listed below) on a table spoon of carrier oil or buy blended oils added to your nice, warm bath you’ll find yourself drifting off in no time.

Alternatively, use an electric bedside diffuser; this oscillates the essential oils and the aromas surround the room slowly, gradually helping you fall asleep.

The electric plug –in are safe for bedtime, depending on the  quantity of water use up to 5 drops of essential oils. You can mix most oils for a lovely synergy just think what herbs and flowers like to grow together.

Lavender Essential oil

This oil, is well known  to assist in sleep  promotes deeper sleep  where the body  self heals  those who sleep in a lavender-scented environment enjoy a quality of sleep that is 20% better than in a normal room. Chamomile essential oil blends’ beautifully with Lavender makes’ an excellent sleeping solution

Marjoram essential oil

Considered even more powerful than lavender and chamomile

Marjoram is a soothing and calming just add a couple drops or in your vaporiser to a tissue and place on your pillow Sleep well.
